Lynne McCall & her family set up shop in Lillydale Victoria
I had the opportunity to visit & chat to the owners of the Lillydale Herb Farm & Nursery in Victoria in lat may. The Autumn leaves were falling rapidly as the winter approaches for the close of another season
It's now time to reflect on the past seasons growth to your business and labor you have put in.
The Lillydale herb Farm & Nursery has been around for 38 years, and has just been taken over by Lynne McCall in the past 8 months. With husband Chris and son Lachlan.
Lynne is a Homeopath Herbalist, with 18 years+ experience, and is also practices Vibrational Medicine Therapy.
Lynne takes up to 15 patients a week in her busy schedual.
Along side her is her husband Chris who has been practicing food technology for a long time and makes sure everything on the OH&S side of things is happening in the busy restaurant nursery and herbal shop.
Lachlan, Lynne's son is the physical power of the farm & runs the nursery and the heavy work load required, a Bowen Therapist, in his own right. A keen nurseryman, propagator and potting mix specialist.
The Lillydale Herb Farm & Nursery has a rather large retail shop sellling medicinal herbs too many to mention, a good selection of herbal soaps gift packs and herbal and homeopathis medicines.
The farm mainly produces potted herbs for sale in the nursery. I was interested the water recycle program Chris had set up around the nursery to collect any runoff water. It is pumped into a tank & recycled to use again to use again for the herb gardens. A good strategy for a city farm on town water supplies.
The farm & nursery is in the development stage for expansion around the main shop and restaurant.
When I was there interviewing the owners, I noticed a good flow of trade through the restaurant and the retail shop and Nursery.
